Does it really matter anymore? I have had the MP3s for the past 2 months. The album just won't surprise me when I buy it. It won't be something I've never heard. And the quality will hardly be improved over the 192kb/s MP3s we all have. Now, it will be nice to listen to the album on our nice expensive amps through our nice expensive sources over our nice expensive ICs on our nice expensive headphones, but I doubt the experience will be overtly and markedly more prodigious.

Shoot me if I'm wrong, but the leak really hurt the album in the short-term; nevertheless, it should, like OK Computer, live in infamy, as I believe the quality of the individual songs are better than the aforementioned 1997 classic.

Ohh yeh... Here it comes baby. Radiohead is definitely one those bands that I would buy their new album without having heard any play. There are precious few artists that I can say the same thing about.
TripleJ FM (my personal fav radio station down here) - announced they would play the entire Hail To The Thief album as soon as legally possible. This means Wednesday morning for us... 3am. And in case not everyone could be able to listen to it at that ungodly hour... they would replay the entire album again the following noon. Tasty.
Their music news also said that Radiohead would describe Hail To The Thief as being OK Computer 2, if such a comparison to past albums had to be made.

It is fun to hear a new CD with fresh ears, but it was still exciting to hear the mp3s for the first time. I regret nothing.

Aaah yes.. I have the spec-ed booklet for Kid A, with artwork by Tchocky. Very nice. My friend had an excellent Amnesiac book, which was most definitely a limited edition, complete with book cover and binding and all.
Given the chance (and avail munnies!) I'd opt for a spec-ed of an album every time, but the sole gripe I would have is that they wouldn't fit in my CD-stands since they're made for the standard jewel cases.

Curse you infernal head-fi'ers, now I'm going to order the spec ed from amazon and it's all your fault!

I've only listened to the early leak and not the final. It will make the true experience of the cd-quality final mastered version that much more worth waiting for. I've had other music to occupy myself with. It's good to leave something to be excited about and not ruin ALL the surprises, right?
