The Racoon ticks the boxes I need plus having a price I'm comfortable with. All postings I've seen are compilimentary although there isn't a lot of information out there. Just asking for some advice on how good it is both as a DAC (will be connected to my stereo) and headphone amp driving Audio Technica AD 900s. If anyone has pulled the covers off this unit, is it easy to switch valves? The photos seem to show a very cramped circuit board and I may well change tubes to a Tung Sol at some stage. Knowing that tube changes aren't fiddly would be a bonus.
Desired sound is clear, warm, musical, which the reviews seem to indicate it has.
