@justin w.

We, Raal-requisite, are sorry to hear that you and Sean are having trouble in your business relationship.
We’ve had no prior knowledge of this and by now we’ve heard both yours and Sean’s side of the story.

We find your move in trying to publicly appeal to us to suddenly act in your favor by loosing business opportunity during the delicate period of our market debut to be a little bit unfair, however, we are hopeful that you two gentlemen will reach a mutually satisfying resolution.

Alex and Danny
Having dealt with Sean and SLT a number of times in the past, it's my experience that they have been reliable and this might just be a misunderstanding. I've been assured by SLT that my preorder is on its way.

@GuyForkes

The SR1a's are on the way to SLT already and will be delivered before the SG Canjam!
We've made the effort to ship out on 2 days notice and got paid in a matter of hours, so all SR1a pre-orders with SLT are safe and will be delivered in a mater of days.

Question. Can the Raal be used with a Ragnarok and sound good?
I tried the combo during Canjam. It works but I felt that it wasn't the most inspiring combo. However now that I think about how cheap a used Rag is, I'm not sure if you can get a speaker amp in that price range that's going to do much better. I've seen KT88's such as the Cronus Magnum go in roughly the same price range (and there's the class D stuff) and the KT88's will deliver more current, but I suspect that the Rag might still compare favorably at the $1,000 mark.

The cheapest power amp I've spent a good amount of time with is the NAD C368, and for the SR1A's that amp is definitely not as good as the Rag.

I hope so. In any case, i've been told it will be resolved in about a week. If that happens, there's no problem. Thanks to SLT and RAAL for the quick response

Interesting. Does the SR1A have that crazy cool out of head soundstage experience that you get from the Susvara? Man, I wish I listened to this with you guys after Canjam, I went out for Pizza instead. Not a bad choice. But my love is audio/music.

The thing is, the optimal placement of the drivers depends on the shape and location of your ears as well as personal tastes for bass quantity and imaging. I find myself perferring a wider position which may have something to do with the size of my ears (quite large), while others seems to use them at a much smaller angle away from the ear canal.

I do like the idea of having a few "presets" in maybe 5 or 10 degree increments up to 90 degrees. In practice though, it's not something I find troubling since once you get used to a particular positioning you instinctively know when the drivers are too "wide" or "narrow" in positioning.
Hopefully, I'm not the only person who prefers to fit my SR1A headphones (very) close to my ear canals, with the metal cage at zero degrees (that is, prefer the metal cages pressing flat against the earlobes) -- Get more deep bass (due to the proximity effect), while IMO still getting the great imaging/soundstaging.
Anyway, others have found that optimal driver placement is quite different, so YMMV.
I like the SR1A angle adjustment the way it is, and not sure that 'presets' would be a significant improvement.

BTW, instead of the steel headband it might be good to have a NiTinol headband (known as 'memory metal') -- like MrSpeakers uses. But, the SR1A steel headband is already narrow and thin, so maybe it's nearly as low weight as NiTinol would be?

It's none of my business and the thread was kind of derailed, but as a good person who handles transactions with care. It doesn't feel good when business isn't handled good on both ends and someone ends up not receiving funds. Especially when it's in regards to the hobby which I love and can barely afford at times :frowning2:. But, there is power on Head-fi. Because a company will not want to tick off us who will spread the news around like wildfire.
