Cachao's two Master Sessions albums under Sony-Epic are supreme classics in Cuban jazz. When compared, the album by his nephew "Cachaíto" López is lackluster and humdrum.

Some of the saddest news I heard in a while. Truly a master musician who will be missed. I was always hoping I would get a chance to see and hear him play live. Never got the chance.

Good-by, Cachao. He made some wonderful music. I got to meet him at a release party at CineSon when I worked with Andy Garcia and he rediscovered Cachao. Nice old gentleman and I loved his music.
