Well, an Auzentech Meridian is going real cheap at the moment on an auction sale ($1 reserve) and I was thinking of maybe buying this and configuring the Meridian in F2K to play music and my Prelude for gaming and movie purposes and thus having a dual soundcard setup which is pretty easy and I have no problems with that.

One question though is of the drivers and whether they will conflict with one another.

Do I need to install drivers for the Meridian since the main soundcard would be the Prelude and if I do need to, will Windows (XP, 32 bit) conflict these drivers?

Thanks.

If they do conflict, I won't buy it to save hassle but if they don't, I might definitely consider buying it.

When I was using Windows, I had no trouble running 2 sound cards. Since both of yours use different chipsets, it shouldnt be that difficult. Install the Prelude first, and Meridian second. In the Windows sound options, select the Prelude as the default sound card. In Foobar, you should be able to select the Meridian as the output device under the output options.

Those two cards should not conflict. One set of drivers are from C-Media and the others are modified Creative drivers. They will work fine in the same system. I usually run more then 1 card and have friends who run 3-4 soundcards for recording purposes.
Whatever soundcard is set for default in Windows control panel will be sent audiot from games etc. For music and movies most players allow you to selct what card you want to use.
-A X-Meridian with a full set of LM4562NA or better opamps sound fairly nice...
If you want to use two card go for it..

You do realise thats just a reserve, I doubt it'll be won by a $1 bid.
