Hello all,

I just finished my TNT shoestring interconnects and am ready to wrap them. Unfortunately, the diameter of the polyethylene tube I used prohibits me from using shoelaces and I don't really want to fork out $$ for Techflex right now.

I know PVC is a no-no (to some) because of its dielectric properties, so I want to know if I can wrap the cable in electrical tape for the time being. I think it's vinyl but I am not positive. I'm sure it's ok, but I want to ask first before spending the time to do it. Thanks in advance,

-Jeremy

The black electric tape *is* similar to PVC material, but it wont' matter much b/c the wire you use has primary dielectric coating already. What I would do is probably use some kind of tape to secure the wires every few inches until you can find big enough covering of some kind.

You know what? After wrapping the wire in the specified geometric patter called for by TNT, it looked so good I don't think I will cover it up. It's very "Star Trek". Besides, once it is installed in my cabinet, I don't plan on getting back there often.
