I thought I saw a link somewhere on this thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/778877/review-questyle-audio-qp1r-with-multiple-headphone-and-iem-pairings
It's 155 pages so it's a long slog but if you PM the the original poster, Moedawg140, he might have it or know where you can get it.
For now I tried completely blanking the Micro SD card and re-formatting it in th4e player itself, re-installing the firmware from the blank card (v1.0.6), and putting all my music back on. If I end up still having the glitches, I'll try reverting to 1.0.2.
I have the Cowon P1 and was thinking about getting the QP1R - how does the QP1R compare? Can't find anywhere to audition close to where I live and would welcome some feedback from anybody that owns both or has had both in the past...

Can anybody help this guy out? I haven't heard the Cowon P1.
My own GUESS would be that the QP1R beats the Cowon P1 in clarity/transparency. I only say this because it is a fairly (not entirely) general consensus that the QP1R beats just about ANY other DAP in sheer clarity. Most people I've talked to about it who have owned or listened to other high-end DAP's say that it beats even the likes of hte high-end A&K, the high-end HiFiMan players, and the Lotoo Paw Gold, in terms of sheer sound-quality alone.
However the fact is that claims of drastic differences between the sound of higher-end DAP's are all exaggerated anyway. At best, the QP1R may sound very subtly more detailed, very slightly clearer, etc., than the P1. The reason it's likely it DOES sound subtly better is simply the QP1R's current-mode amplification, which is superior to just about any other player's amplification as it is a scaled-down version of that used in Questyle's flagship desktop amp.
That being said, the P1 has more sound-customization features, from what I've read. Some that people really love them a lot. I can also almost guarantee that it has a far better user-interface than the QP1R, since the QP1R does have UI issues and is Questyle's first attempt at a DAP, while Cowon has plenty of experience making DAP's. It also has good and plentiful onboard-memory (128gb as opposed to the QP1R's 32gb), which is honestly a big advantage, as Micro-SD cards tend to die eventually after enough writes and erasures of data, and can also be defective and die sooner for more stupid reasons.
One thing to note is that the QP1R does not have a perfectly black background with more-sensitive IEM's. However, that issue is never at all audible during music and does not affect the listening at all.
Anybody actually owned both so they can help this guy more than me?
Advice please appreciated.
Just sold my QP1R, unfortunately the buyer cannot connect his music on the dap via Mac or pc says does not recognise. I included a USB not the one supplied by Questyle but he says has tried various to no avail. He is asking for refund. I am reluctant to do this as I know this piece of kit is amazing and i have used lots of USB leads with the dap. can anyone please advise what to do or say to him. He did call the device an Mp3 and I wonder if he is not familiar with hires. I did include loads of Hi res on the device, which has been hardly used. I even included a leather case costing £50 and an sd card.
Advice please appreciated.

The dap is not recognized just the drives. He might have to go to Finder or my computer on th Pc . On the mac the drive should show up on the desktop unless he has things setup differently . Just one other thing not many USB cables work without modding them they are too big to fit in the slot. Did the one you sent work for you? Also a 5 dollar card reader will work if you pull out the cards and do it that way. If he has a Mac and a pc he should have a card reader. You can't play anything from the USB part of the dap anyway.
Advice please appreciated.

If it's a Mac, the only thing I would add to check: Under Finder > Finder Preferences > General Tab > External Disks > is ticked. If this isn't selected then external disks (the QP1(R) in this case) won't show up on the Desktop, which would give the impression that it didn't mount.
Spitfire, you mention that you did not supply the Questyle cable to the buyer as well. This could be the problem. I also bought one from ebay without the correct cable and wasn't able to use a couple of different types of micro USB. The questyle has a pretty snug fitting around the USB and most cables don't seem to be able to fit securely. This was probably your mistake.
Apologies first if this is a stupid question but in preparation for most phones losing their headphone jacks I'm in the process of looking for a dap. Unfortunately all of my music is on iTunes. Is there a less painful method of transferring that onto the questyle/sad card. I have everything on iCloud and don't normally sync to the computer. Thanks!

You can manually drag and drop albums to folders from iTunes (the QP1R plays AAC and ALAC formats directly) or use MediaMonkey to automate things if you have a large music collection.
One important request to everybody. There is nothing to say that most phones are going to lose their headphone jacks. A couple of greedy vendors are trying this (one very greedy vendor, in particular), but that doesn't mean we have to take it lying down. The vast majority of Android phones still have headphone jacks, and the newer Galaxy phones are superior to the iPhone in almost every regard. You don't have to live your future life with a pair of Bluetooth Beats headphones!!!!! Please vote with your wallets folks!

If all your music is on iCloud then that's where it is. iTunes has a folder that music is stored on the HD also not for sure as I never use the cloud to store anything . I want everything local using multiple drives. They are held in different locations depending if you use a Mac or PC.
