Everyone says the v6's kick ass..... but I like the design on the 7505.... but the v6's are cool as hell too. I searched thru all the board for info on the 7505 and there isn't much... how about a little bit of input on those... which one sounds better???

I listen to heavy rock/metal and want great bass!!
I also plan to dj a little bit and mess with some recording/studio crap.

thanks guys!

there's many discussions and debates that questions that both headphones are the same. if they're not the same, i'm sure the differences and nearly indistinguishable. the only physical differences are that the 7506 has a gold plug and different badging.

i love my MDR-7506!

I could have sworn he said 7505, not 7506...

The 7505's look to me like "yet another" pair of midpriced 40mm neodymium closed cans, yet they look strangely familiar too, as if I owned this model or a similar one back around 1990 (don't remember). Sorry, nothing else comes to mind about these cans other than that.

Actually, the MDR-7505's use the shell of the MDR-V500DJ's, but different drivers that apparently aren't being used in any other Sony headphones at present. It is a newer design, similar to that of the V500DJ, but maybe slightly better than 'V-CRAP' performance.

are they as big as the v700dj?
I went to best buy the other day and tried them out... I'm using them as an example to get an idea on how big the 7505 are.
so, you guys think the sound is the same as the v6's?

thanks.

Are you stuck on Sony's? If so are you considering the CD780's? Not sure how well they'd work with djing though.

well, the thing is this: 7505 on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=40137

and someguy from this board told me that he was selling his v6's like new codition for $65 shipped.

I'm still trying to decide on which.... the problem is that I like the design of the 7505 but I heard more cool stuff about the v6's.
I want it for studio crap and djing.

I must decide soon

Don't Buy Them --

(1) The 7505's are relatively unknown and don't have a lot of resale value (as you can see from the price here)
(2) If you don't like them, no matter how low the price seems then you are stuck and would have to resell them yourself to a less-than-overwhelmed audience.

Unless this is all worth it to you -- don't do it. If you want to try these 'phones, buy a new pair from a dealer that you can return them to, or audition them somewhere at a local dealership.
