Question about using Chord Dave as a DAC to a STAX energizer

I have tried several combinations to use the Chord Dave as a DAC to a STAX energizer (SRM-252S) but it does not seem to work. I did put the Dave into DAC model but the energizer does not seem to recognize it.

I don’t own a Dave but have heard it used as a dac only so I know it should work.
