I'm really thinking about buying these headphone's but Im unsure if they are suitable for portable use without an amp?, and are the size acceptable for outdoor use. I will be mostly using these at home and at the studio and I just wanted your opinion on portability issues.

They are quite big, Senn 280 size

In the photos online they look a lot smaller than they actaully are.

They are portable and they sound fine straight out of my ipod

FYI the 650's are more difficuilt to drive then the 550's but as stated above the ipod will drive them to good loud sound levels with no discernable problems

Thanks, the size may be an issue for me but they sound to good to pass. Senn 280 size ain't that bad IMO so these should be fine
