question about staticy noise

When I plug my ER6i IEMs into the headphone jack on my computer I notice a sort of staticy noise, not sure how else to describe it, when I don't have anything playing. However, weird thing is that the sound goes away depending on how the wire is resting. Is this normal?

Sound card headphone outs are typically very noisy and just crappy overall. It's perfectly normal, but of course this means that you need to get the Micro Stack from HeadRoom!

EM interference. It's almost guaranteed with computer soundcards. Headphone jacks that you find on the front of computers are even worse than dedicated soundcards. Since IEMs are quite sensitive, I wouldn't be surprised if you hear extremely high amounts of noise and interference.

If you purchase a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) or upgrade your sound card that should help alot.
