Hey, I am wondering if the small tri-flange tips for ety iems would fit on the im716. i am purchasing some small olives for them so i thought i might as well also grab some tri-flanges for times when foams aren't the best solution. thanks.

Based on your description, it seems the small olive will probably fit better. Here is the pdf file from Shure with comparison of all the Shure eartips.

Shure olives don't really fit on the 716. The 716 have a little ridge at the tip of the sound tube that makes it just a bit wider.

Shure olives certainly do fit, I used to use them for my IM716. The problem is that it can be a bit difficult to extract them out, so after a while I switch to Sleek biflangles, which I highly recommend for the IM716.

They don't go on without stretching the tube first. You might have more luck with the Comply T100s, which Comply says are compatible with both Shures and the IM716, so who knows.

I just get them near the 716 sound tube and sort of twist them on. No need to remove the sound tube in the olive. You pretty much destroy them taking them off though.

Hmm, anybody try sanding the edge of the tip down? Wouldn't want to risk damaging the sound tube.
