Question about head amps..

If I run my comp to a two channed reciever 100x2. Will I still need a headphone amp?

If your receiver has a headphone out then there is no need for a headphone amp.

Then my next question would be why buy an $400 head amp when 2 channel receivers are like $100 to $200, beside the size?

Forgot about the search feature. I will do some testing w/ my receiver and see how I like it, if not then headamp here I come

Welcome to head-fi, sorry about your wallet!

You will not "NEED" a headamp if your receiver has a headphone jack. A receiver is fine in a lot of situations but it's possible that a dedicated headamp will give you better results depending on your source and your headphones.
