This is mainly concerning the SR-325. I am really confused about what is "new" and "old" with these phones. First, the 325's. Arte the new ones painted, or were the old one painted? I thought they were originally painted and then they stopped it because it looked cooler without the paint anyway. Also, on the 225's (and lower models of the prestige line) embossed "grado prestige series" thing around the earcup. Are they gold, silver, or what?

I'm just curious because I often see ranging headphone pic posts here and would like to know what is new or old, thanks.

Really old ones used to be painted. New ones are silver. On the 225s I used to have the lettering was all silver.

bump

Thanks for that info.

Does anyone else have pictures or any other information to contribute?

No one ever responds to my threads.

Also, are there differences in the drivers of the prestige or reference lines?

I'm sure there are deferences in drivers. I could not imagine that the deference would only be attributed to the cup change. Perhaps if you want more details you could email Grado? They are quite good relying. I have some pictures somewhere but I have dozens of poorly labeled directories of pics that I never had the time to sort and at least 6-8 thousand pictures. I can take a few and post a link, would be faster

I was in a store a month ago, and their "new stock" had inconsistencies. Some grills were black, some silver. They said Grados have been coming to them that way for "awhile".

Weird. I forgot about the grills, that's another thing. I contacted Grado BTW. Waiting for a response.

dariusf, I'd love to see those pics if you can find them!!!

Those are some nice pics too drool over! I like your headband, it doesn't look like the cheap plastic one pictured on the Grado site.

These are fresh pics I just took today. Just for you

The headband is all leather. One of the main reason for my upgrade from 225s was the cheap materials they used. They looked like $30 cans. But still the sound is what counts and I really like the sound of the 225s. I had both at the same time and I preferred the sound of the 325s but there are people that prefer the 225s. The 325s sounded cleaner, more refined to me. The bottom seemed also improved. That was with rock and metal

I do prefer Audio Technica W1000 or Senn 600s when I want to relax or for other types or music. But for rock and metal when you need the real punch, in your face, first row presentation and for electric guitars, at least for me, nothing beats Grado.

Also, what do you make of the bowl pads? I see you use them. Are they really as rough and irritating as some say they are? If I get some Grado's I'm probably going to buy an extra set of bowls, a set of flats, a set of those Senn pads, and a set of the comfies just to see what's best for me!

If you're curious what Grados look like screwed around with a tad in Photoshop (which pretty much tells you nothing in response to the original question

) see here.

I use the Dell "Quietkey" keyboard that came with my computer. It works. I was actually pretty damn silent when I first got it. Took about two weeks to break that sucker in. It still has a bit too much resistance. The Identical keyboard at my school is broken in to the point where it's unbelievable noisy but a heck of a pleasure to type on. NO resistance. Which one do you guys reccommend?

Anyway, that ipod pic is NICE, blessingx!!
