question about D-NE1's optical out

so I found a brand new D-NE1 for 140$ shipped (is this a good price?)

my question is does the optical out work with atrac/mp3 cd's? I wasnt sure if it was something that only works with PCM/WAV

Hey.

I'm not sure about sure about the line out, but I was thinking I had read somewhere that it did work for mp3's. Not 100% sure though, but about the price...

I was looking around Tweeter a few weeks ago, and they had dropped the price on the D-NE1 to 98$. Might want to look for a Tweeter or Hi-Fi Buys (probably will have the same markdown).

It should only work when using CD (regular ones).

Digital Line Out is only enabled for Redbook or Audio CD playback only.

For other digital uses (ATRAC3plus, ATRAC3, and MP3), the line out is limited to analog only.

Other than that, the D-NE1 is a pretty good player, especially for that price. And it's probably the last of the Sony PCDPs with the traditional circular design. Enjoy.

I was mistaken, such is life. It's happened to me a few times before...sigh. Oh well, hopefully you'll have a Tweeter you can pick it up at for 98$. G'luck again.
