So I've been thinking this over for awhile, and trying some combinations, and it doesn't seem like it will work, or I am overlooking something. What I want to do is use my Xonar Essence One as the DAC, and the Jotunheim as the amplifier. The Jotunheim has the dac integrated. I like the better volume control I get with the Jotunheim, and it sounds better in the power department, but having bought some muses opamps gave my Essence One a noticeable bump in the sound, and thus got the idea of using the One as the DAC, and the Jotunheim as the amp. Is this something that is even possible?
 
Thank you for any help with this. I feel it is possible, but I'm overlooking something basic.
