QUAD ERA-1 Thread

Did everything work out for you? I'm in a bit of a similar situation, with the right side no longer working after the headphones took a fall. Now trying to figure out the best way forward.
First thing is to contact Quad? Driver failure or broken connection are the only possibilities i can think of

Hi!

I am trying to return the headphones to the seller because I found new headphones with a discount and warranty for almost the same price. I tend to think that it is a broken connection as other users mentioned. There is no certified service in my country, so anyway would need to send them away for service or return.

Burson Swing dac => Little Dot 2 (pre-amp + upgraded tubes) => Burson Fun amp => Quad Era-1 (+ Norne silver cable)

Some wonderful synergy to my ears :)

Just checking in after using my Quad’s for several months. Still think they are fantastic and the fact that I split my listening time equally between them and my Utopias is high praise.

But I can’t make ‘em work with the hybrid pads, no matter what. Leather pads and eq all the way for me :L3000:

Tried them with cross-feed?
That was the most compelling I got out of the hybrids.

It looks like there's a JPM-102 now. If the Era-1 and Alara are 101's, then maybe the Zephone Tiger is a 102.
Zeo's, in his slapdash fashion, has identified no discernible difference between the Alara, Era-1 and Tiger.

I'm tempted to skip the middleman and try to order a 102 straight from Yogada.

It looks like they only do OEM work. I sent an email asking how to buy their planars. They have a nice looking wood dynamic too.

We'll buy em in bulk and sell off the excess. Paint them the same colour scheme as the forums: "Head-Fi's first headphone, The Supremus."

Any news on that front?
