QED MB45 amp - 701s or 600s

Hey all,

I found a discontinued QED MB45 at my local high end store for pretty inexpensive.. Can anyone offer any feedback on it? Is it a piece o crap, or worth about 120 bucks? can it drive something like the 701?

Its not good... quite old (late 90's product run IIRC), with a volume dial that doubles up as a balance control (if you goof that up, which is all too easy to do, then the balance will never be central EVER again... nightmare!) - For that price, I'd walk on by personally

Just pull the knob off and reset.
It's not hard to do but I agree that the volume/balance knob is not the height of audio case design.

That said, late 90s is hardly "old" and as mentioned to the OP in his other thread (why more than one?) the MB45 does a good job of pushing my K701s (and others) although I cannot speak for Sennheisers as I have no experience with them.

$120 is a pretty good deal and ensures he should get his money back on fleabay if he finds he doesn't like it too much.

He could do a LOT worse.
