Is 4ss still comes on top for reference tuning? If i wanted something like er2se but better, 4ss is it any good? Was aiming for sh3 but i think i want to reduce my spending. Or do u have any other recommendations?

I’m considering buying an Anole VX since Andrew at MusicTeck told me there would be further savings from it’s already discounted price for Black Friday. I had been thinking of the DMagic—I especially like the Oslo cable that comes with it—but there may not be a big difference in price with the sale.

I have tried both the anole vx and dmagic. The anole vx is more detailed but I prefer the tone of the dmagic

Can you elaborate on what aspect of the DMagic tuning you prefer? Did you find the VX to be too emphasized in the upper frequencies?

I found the vx to be too flat/ studio-like detailed but not for my taste, on the other hand the dmagic timbre and music sounds very “analogue”/realistic a bit warmer than the anole vx.

Get the VX. It is one of the best IEM’s available. It has upper mids and treble though, but an excellent timbre.

I totally agree with this in the sense that nothing stands out. Yes. It has very good macro details and yes when ticking the bass switch, bass has great presence. However, everything is still ho-hum level. Its a great iem. Afterr owning one for a few months -i see some things i wish it had after listening to similar tiered iems.

I have 800hz lifted a bit. That seems to bring it to life a tad. It could just be me but i think that 7k peak is fatiguing. I had originally bass and treble switches up but now just bass with 9k+ eq'd and my ears have been ok so far.

I successfully removed the standard cable qdc 5SL and it was very difficult. It is difficult because I manually pulled with all my strength and the cable was not removed. I began to get very worried that I might damage the socket. At first, I managed to remove one earphone (right), then after I got a new balanced cable, I ran into the problem again. I never managed to remove the left earpiece with my hands. I tried to grab my teeth and pulled with all my might, after which the cable was detached .. xD
New cable with new connectors can be easily detached without any problems. Fuh.

The sale price on the VX is $1,799 at MusicTeck. The DMagic is on sale for about $700 less. Both would be a blind purchase, so I’m not completely sure which way to go, but I’m leaning towards the VX.

If you like "ba" sound the vx is the one to get. better resolution and imaging. The Dmagic is for people who loves the DD sound not as detailed but "coherent" (hope that Im using the right word) easier to listen. I think it comes to your music library. The dmagic is very good for jazz, soul, pop.
