Which would you say is more revealing and accurate? What will take poor recordings better? Is one more resolving than the other? Thanks

IMO they're both about equal in every area you've mentioned.
This all depends on the equipment though, especially the DAC.
With both i've heard differences in every little change to my setup.
 
HD-650 might be slightly better for poor recordings, but they also don't sound too terrible on the Q701.
Very harsh music is more listenable on the HD-650, but still not made worse on the Q701.
 
I have both of these headphones but my Q701 is the bass modded version.
 
PS Q701 to me has never been analytical sounding to me, but the K702 was a bit back when I first heard it.
You can't really picked out the differences in recordings on the Q701 as well as on something like the DT-880 (IMO).

I'm a little unsure of the quality of those non-Austrian Q701s, but K701 or K702 is definitely more resolving, I recommend those instead.
HD650 will take poor recordings better, but not by much as it is very revealing, too.
