So that's it.. title says it all...
biggrin.gif

I listen to electronicas most of the time, I like house, trance and techno.

I was about to purchase Q-jays based on head-fi review, however there are

many candidates other than Q-jays.

I only have owned Shure E2C, and newbie to head-fi scene...I liked my E2C though.. -_-;;

I need recommendations from experts like you!

It can be a personal, if you listend any of phones that I listed, please convince me to buy them!

I almost fell for Q-jays because of resonable price, $179USD and I heard that they are very balanced, and the comfortness is amazing.

But SQ is all that matters after all.

I found SE 530 for $300 with shipping on ebay, but I heard Q-jays can compete with 530 for 100 dollar less...

I saw very good reviews for denon C700 (USD $136 at Amazon), and Super fi. 5 Pro ($165), ER4S ($191)

I know some of the phones are out of league with some of phone that I listed, but it's all matter of your taste.

So I'm lost!!!!

Please post your opinion! and please let me decide once and for all!!

Many Thanks

Steven

You should become your own expert. All that matters is YOUR taste. Nothing that anyone can describe will necessarily match YOUR sonic preferences. With all the choices YOU'RE asking for comparison on... you should be a little less lazy, and do some more research & reading on your own. And, whatever you eventually DO buy... whether you like it, or not... at least you'll be building up your own personal database of what's good for YOU. Sorry if you don't care for my advice. It's well-intentioned. (No doubt you'll get many other reco's though)...

I second that, to an extent.
There is a very big chance whatever you buy will not completely satisfy you. Given your price range, most IEMs in it have different upsides and downsides, none are perfect or close to it. Even if you do your research, nothing can substitute actually listening to them.
For example, I did tons of research and ended up with a pair of d-Jays. I liked them at first, but then started discovering things that I dislike about them. After a while, I couldn't stand them. Then I spent some time with Super.Fi 5s, and I knew that even though they are not perfect either, they fit my tastes much better than the d-Jays.
Just my .02

What's perfect? - Super.Fi 5's are pretty excellent. Good choice.

Hmm I Understand what you guys are saying and thank you for the replies..

However, I listed my preference that I like electronicas, but I just can't get to listen to those phones locally in any stores, so I need recommendation. Thanks

It's definitely a good choice, but they are not perfect. They seemed a little bright, and the mids weren't very hot.

I would try either the Super.Fi 5 Pro, or the q-Jays. Both seem like good all-arounders.

If you like "muffled" vocals and a heavy out-of-tune sound (since mids = most presented instruments' range somewhere along the line), then yes, the super.fi 5 Pro is the best choice.

Well... they EQ nicely. To go from "not perfect", to your assessment is a big step down, especially the out-of-tune part. So, just for the heck of it... I'll have to respectfully disagree. Years ago... I (mistakenly, for my own sonic preferences), had Spectral electronics driving Martin Logan CLS's. Now that didn't last long.

(it was horribly bright for me - but very detailed). Most people wouldn't have liked the sound, but I suspect you might've.

We all hear... what we hear.

I own the C700's and I listen to the same genres you do. I think the C700's pair well with electronica, but I haven't tried any of those other headphones you mentioned. Yeah... pretty useless input huh?

If you’d like your music crisp and detailed I assume that you should not pic UE5pro. Even if these phones can sound a little bright the output from these can seem little dull or lifeless. But if your ears are like mine, ears that are little allergic to bright and analytic sound I think you like the UE5pros. I also think the UE5pro suite electronic music very well (very nice base response).

I think the UE5pro respond rather well to eq. My receipt for good sound with these phones: add more mid (around 4kHz), lower response in 12 kHz region, and above this I add more for better detail.

So, It's done, I did more research, and placed an order..

However, Since I have done reading all (Yes! "all" i can find from Google, and head-fi) reviews and articles about supe-fi 5 pro, and q-jays..

I placed an order from Canadian Website..

Reading review about Super. fi 5 Pros, I could tell it's sonic signture is nice match for my prefrences, but I have small ears, and I wanna use it while i'm moving around(work out, snowboarding, etc..)

Q-jays... I can't find any bad reviews, it's like analytic, and fun phones. small/best fit.

I'll go with Jays.. I Placed an order, It's coming end of this week I hope...

Yes.. another waiting time.. it'll reveal anytime soon.. hehe

I'll post an impression once I get them..

PS:I read that PedCed was saying dual-amatures like q-jays don't need and don't get better from "Burn-in".. Did any one tried to burn-in their IEMS?

Its one of those "it can't hurt" things. Something to do when not using the headphones. The anticipation and wait during the burning in probably does more to the perceived sound than anything, like a coke addict itching for a hit when the dealer's out of town. But, I do think its possible that during the manufacture of dynamic or armature phones that small particles or unstable imperfections can be present on the final product. These may come loose during the 'burn-in' and possibly reduce some harshness and/or restore the intended balance to the phones to result in the 'final' sound. Other changes that might occur over years of use likely arise from other processes.
