ok, i know i must be driving everyone here crazy with all the "this can vs. that can" nonsense lately, but i really want my next pair to be the best for my application, which is portability. i've more or less narrowed it down to the er-6 and px200. whichever one i choose will be used UNAMPED thru an ipod. the reason i decided on these two is because of their size and the fact that they're sealed. so now i need to know, how do they compare sound quality wise, unamped? also, how is the px200's isolation compared to the
er-6? that is another big factor in my decision. finally, durability. i believe both of these cans come with a protective case of some sort, so that really shouldnt be an issue. if anyone has any experience with the sound quality or isolation of these phones, please help. thanks.

PS- ive already searched the forum, and NO, i wont spend another $200 to move up to the er-4.

i have PX200's, and they are very portable (even moreso than eggos). The sound is enjoyable but quality is a little below the Koss PortaPro. The isolation is better, not great but about what I expected. I like the way they look and that they can sit around your neck if you need to take em off I've had the PX100's and they sound even darker, so I would prefer the PX200s to the PX100s.

The Eggos can be better compared to the er6s than px200s can.

However, it's more of what fits your needs that counts. The px200s are more portable than the eggos, and I'm one of those weirdos that prefer them to the portapros.

I prefer the PX200s to the PortaPros, as well. I think the bass is a little too heavy in the PortaPros compared to the PX200s, but I have, use and like both.

As far as isolation goes, I've never tried the er-6, but imagine it would be better than the PX200s. The PX200s do not really isolate too well.

One or two people here have urged me to get the Eggos. Hmmmmm...
