which are better for use with my ipod on the bus?

senn px 200
or
senn hd 477 (also considering the HD 437)

both are closed as far as i know, i just wanna know what people think of their sound? i'm assuming the hd477 is better, but i really dont know so i'm asking you guys

The only thing i'm worried about is that the 477s are open air, so they'll leak sound to people sitting next to me, on the bus, and in my studio.. true?

thanks

PS. I'm also curious as to how the senn EH250 compare to the above ones ... those are closed and i'd probably like that better
thx

EDIT: ok now im curious about the hd25 sp .. as per post below: are they huge and do they look silly on your head?

open air == not closed

The 477 would be a bad choice for the bus because it will let a lot of external noise in.

I'd look at the HD 25 SP, HD 201, HD 212, or EH 250. The PX 200 doesn't have a particularly good seal, therefore does not isolate much.

Not a fan of supra-aurals really, headphones should go in your ears or completely envelop them. Not faff about in-between.

well.. about the hd25 sp

just how big are they? will i look like a tit with oversized cups on his ears wearing them? (cause thats how i look with my HD570s)

i cant find a pic of anyone wearing them on the net...

thx

hd 25s are relatively small, they sit on your ears instead of around them. you will get a good seal though, so plenty of isolation for the bus. open backed headphones (ones that have vents on the sides like the hd477s) are virtually useless in noisy environments.

No, these are a perfect size for portable use. Quite a lot smaller than the 570 or the HD 280 (which do, in fact, look rather silly outdoors).
