Donunus you can't go wrong with the new ones. They are a great headphone period, regardless of price. If I had to criticize them then I would say they are lacking in treble quantity. The sound is therefore warm, and you may like it or you may not. I like this since its great for listening over extended periods and less likely to be fatiguing. They are really opposite to the Grados in this area. I love the overall quality of the sound. The px100 has a nice thumping bass, and a clear midrange. Its great for mobile use and mates well with any portable music player. Its one of those headphones that you grab when you want to be on the go. Hope this helps.

I had a new(white) PX-100 about one month ago. I didn't like it. It wasn't that the treble was only recessed but was unnatural, just plain bad to my ears.

After my experience I would never recommend them to anyone.

I need a portable can for my 5g ipod. Seems like theres not much to choose from. I despise the akg k81djs highs so i sold them. Just want something pleasant and not extremely unbalanced. My old px100s were ok at first but after a long break in, the highs dissapeared

I did compare older and newer PX100 and must admit that I liked the older model more. It had warmer sound, with greater and more precise bass response, it also "seemed" more "alive" when listening to rock music.

On the other hand, newer PX100 are much brighter with better highs, but seem to lack bass a bit

donunus I see you have hd595. I compared the new px100 to hd595 when I owned them both. The new px100 is just slightly less bright than hd595. I was surprised. It also has impressive bass imo. I'm thinking of buying px100 again fwiw.
