i have decided i'm going to buy either the sennheiser PX 100 or PX 200.
it's for my mp3 player...price doesn't matter(i know the 200 is more expensive)...i just would like to know which is better...i listen mostly to rock acts, the likes of pixies, air, smiths, daft punk,beatles,ladytron...(if that helps)
any help would be greatly appreciated...

thanks,

zak.

The impression I get from reading threads is that the 100's do what they do better than the 200's do what they do.

I got the PX 100's just last week, and I'm already quite happy with them out of different MP3 players and a portable CD player. They're comfortable, seem solid for what they are, and have a nicer sound than I would have expected from a foldable set of portables. If you don't need isolation, it's definitely one to consider getting. And if you get a good price, all the better.

It's a different situation if you need isolation / noise supression ... I haven't heard the 200's, but can say that there are also other brands of headphones that supply isolation as well as all the various canal phones and IEMs that would provide varying degrees of isolation.

I haven't heard the PX100 before. I used to own a PX200 tho. It's one of the worse headphones under $50 IMO. Do a search on the forum, and you'll find that their sound heavily depends on whether you get a good fit or not. Me and my bro didn't get a good fit no matter how hard we try; therefore, they sound realllly tinny.

It's hard to justify buying them when the likes of KSC75, PX100, SR60, K81DJ, EP630 are available.

I vote PX100, the PX200 sounded nasty and muddy to me. I also think open headphones are better for biking, it means you can hear it if there's a car about to run you down.

id suggest the px-100 too, since you will be riding your bike... hearing other noises around you may be helpful

I've only heard the PX100 and the PX200 and I would choose the PX100s anyday.

To me the PX200 sounds flat, muddy, dull etc. but will improve provided you keep pushing your finger on them to get some isolation.
