Purchasing a Philips Fidelio X1, can I use just a Modi until I purchase a Magni? Also question regarding MixAamp pro.

I am going to buy a set of Philips Fidelio X1.
 
Question 1: o2+ODAC vs Modi+Magi from a UK buyers point of view. Seems like obtaining either involves importing.

You can't use the modi without an amp. But you can use the magni without a DAC (the modi is a DAC). Maybe look into hifimediy. They make good budget DACs at least, and I think you can get their stuff in UK without importing (saw some folks talk about it some time ago)
