donlin mentioned this in the Naim/GS Solo thread, but I wanted to heads-up it here in a separate thread.
HiFi News, in its July 2007 issue, has a review of the PS Audio GCHA solid state headphone amp (about $1000, Crutchfield etc.). As donlin said, the loved it, and said it worked great with the Sennheiser HD 650 (although I'm not sure they're totally enamored with the 650 sound!). They pretty much say the amp is perfect.
My expereince with it is overwhelmingly positive so far, too.
I do have one concern - they mention 100 ohm as more or less the lowest load it's designed to amp. Isn't the AKG K701 (which I've just re-acquired) something like 65 ohm?
Is that a problem? They sound fine to me, but if anybody is using the 701 with the GCHA, reassure me!!
