Hmmm.... wasn't sure exactly where to put this post since it's not entirely an amp for my headphones...
just for background information: i own etymotic er-6i's and grado sr80s... (cheap I know, but I'm a college kid)
I wanted to buy a nice stereo system, and I like the sound of the older vintage receivers and speakers. So... I've been scouring CL for some vintage stuff. I was thinking about picking up some Pioneer cs-88a speakers and a Proton D940 receiver, but a guy at AK recommended that I try buying Heco speakers with a Pioneer SA-800 amplifier.
Since both the Proton receiver and the Pioneer amphave headphone jacks... supposedly..., I wanted to get head-fier's opinions on this (since head-fi is where my audiophilic obsession began) - and because i plan to run my headphones through these as well.
