$2000? who's your dealer? The Gyro SE (stands for Spider Edition) cost £895 (with no arm) but it works well with ta Rega R300. So it's only about £200 more, I think it's money well spent. If I had the money that it.
Anyone would be stupid to pay that much for the Gyro SE, go here http://www.hifichoice.co.uk/archive/...rintreview.htm and you can see a review and a price of it in the UK. Even after tax and transport, I still don't think it'll go up by $1000! That site is making over 100% profit, probably 150%.
And go here for a http://www.hifis.com/vinyl/vinyl.htm#turntables UK website/shop that's in London and ship overseas, it's £829 and will be even cheaper if you are aboard as they take off 17.5% VAT from the £829 = £684. Now, that's now cheaper then the Pro-ject Perspective! And I am very tempted !
I just spent £1000 on a new camera, lenes + accessories. I would love to get a good turntable but I don't have a good enough platform for it to sit on. So it would be pointless until I get a proper Hifi rack.
