Product Launch: ELYSIUM | VE3.2 | VE4.2
Jun 10, 2019 at 11:09 AM Post #16 of 37
Anyone able to do me a little key to show what we are looking at inside the elysium? I can see the DD and the BA, cant work out which one is the electrostatic driver? Thanks for the internals shot by the way, they always make me v happy. In terms of "having a good amplifier" in your DAP, can you talk through a little more what will be needed to drive these bad boys?

Cheers!

I think they're the green drivers at the bottom?

Also, @Vision Ears do you guys still have a distributor in Korea? I know GSoundLab used to have your IEMs, but I'm not sure if they still do - or more importantly, whether or not they're getting the 3.2/4.2/Elysium.

I am sorry, I did not understand your response. Do you mean the VE8 will not be upgraded till next year?
Also, will it continue to be your top IEM? Tks.
We won't upgrade any other VE models. The ELYSIUM will be our new flagship as a custom VE. Sorry if I wasn't so clear in my previous answer. Cheers!

Good that you're asking! We'll have a new distributor in Korea, it's Scheherazade in Seoul (Sorishop) http://www.schezade.co.kr They will have the complete VE line up (VE2 - VE8) and the VE premium line (ELYSIUM and ERLKöNIG). I think they will do the official launch in beginning of July (and so far as I know, one of our CEO's will be at the launch event as well). Cheers!

Ha I actually saw that there was a Vision Ears link on the Schezade page and was wondering about that.

Bit worried about what pricing will be like after the Legend X, but FWIW, it's a much nicer store. (Also within walking distance from home, which is always nice)

The EST (electrostatic driver) are the ones that you see in the 2nd picture (right side). They have wires and a green transformer (looks like a tube). The drivers themselves are very small and contains always two high drivers and one transformer. In terms of DAP's we won't name any brands (pls understand) but I can tell you that each EST model out there is hard to drive. The ELYSIUM needs a lot of power to show up the whole beauty, but the power should be controlled, not just "loud". Maybe you'll have the chance to listen to the ELYSIUM at the London CanJam in July? Cheers!

Sorry but I don't know about the prices yet, but as we know, Asia are always ("a bit") higher then here. Hope you'll anyway find time to visit our new partner soon  Cheers!

For sure! Don’t get me wrong, it’s by far my favorite audio store, and I stop by pretty often. I’m looking forward to trying out the Elysium, and I’ll be able to do a side by side comparison with more IEMs there.

(I’m just hoping the LX situation, where it came in at $1000USD more than it did in Japan, doesn’t happen again. I like supporting local businesses, but not enough to pay a four figure markup. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

Is there anybody who heard the Elysium and is able to compare them to the VE8?

I read some brief impressions and a short comparison in which the Elysium did not meet up to the expectations.

Is it true, that it is much more focused on the treble with slightly thin or hollow mids?

I own the VE8 and the thing it does best is it’s coherent signature and its almost better then live mids, with a realism und fullness in its sound which I never heard before in any iem or even full-size can.
Only thing I’ve heard with comparable mids was the Bowers & Wilkins 801 Nautilus powered by a Unison Research Triode.

I really like the way Vision Ears went with the elysium since I thought the Dynamic driver should be even better suited for lush and realistic mids, but these first „reviews“ put me off a little bit..

Hopefully the day I demo them myself renders these first opinions meaningless!

Wow, that's a word! No, I don't thing that their SRP is more then 15-20% compared to ours. And I think you just explained it c correct, supporting local is good up to a certain point

Hi, since nobody is answering you, let me help you... when we were in Hong Kong and Singapore some people listened to the Elysium with their players. If the amplifier of the player has not enough power to drive the Electrostatics well, the highs suffered, so their impression was that the highs were too low. But as soon as they used one of our players they immediately heard that the highs unfolded their beauty.
Actually many people mentioned that the mids are very which and natural and this is also what we intended to create. Comparing the VE8 with the Elysium will show you that the Elysium has generally a much more relaxed sound signature, the VE8 is smooth but powerful. From my opinion the mids with the Elysium are more realistic and natural than the mids of the VE8, highs are more extended and rich of details. Lows are less in volume and more controlled and layered.

As with every IEM, all depends on your personal preferences of sound and what kind of music you prefer. The Demo units of the Elysium will soon touch ground at all our dealers worldwide. And you are very welcome to visit us in Cologne and have a listening session bringing all your preferred earphones for comparison.

That is interesting to know. I haven't seen on your website any information about the sensitivity and the impedance of Elysium. Does that mean ES drivers have very low sensitivity/high impedance, and need more power to be driven properly? I have the KANN Cube which can drive nearly any full sized HP, so I see for myself no issue here, but that is probably the reason why some people claimed that another dual ES driver IEM sounded like "lacking a lot of information in the highs".

Though I wished universal fit Elysiums are also available for purchasing. :)

HI everyone

This might prove helpful for those interested in the Elysium. We just did an initial impression and unboxing feature. All I can say is wow! Beautiful build, huge physical retail package and awesome mids.

Good brief review. I look forward to your full review. Are you able to compare it to the Fourte, Noble Encore, Anole VX and their VE 8? I am very curious how the bass sounds in comparison. Tks.
