After listening to the Grado's for a few weeks, I've noticed that both of the cords coming out of the earpieces move in and out, and whenever I move my head they tend to move around and make an extremely annoying grating noise. Are they supposed to have this kind of play in them? I can probably push them about a quarter to a half an inch into the earpiece if I try. Now aside from the "Don't move, stupid" approach, does anyone else have any ideas about this? Noticed it? Need fixing? Thanks!

Yep, they do that. I think some people have used a dab of superglue where the cords enter the earcups, or whatever... (try this at your own risk, this is hear-say).

yep, thats grado for you - its pretty normal - i had the same problem with my sr60s - which i dont anymore - becos it broke and went to headphone heaven. but seriously - dont push the cord in - you dont know what its gonna hit against - encircle the hole in the housing where the cord enters with blutak or hot glue - if you look inside the earcup - you will see that the part of the cable that is inside has hotglue around it -that prevents the cord from being pulled - thus doing damage like ripping the cord out. try hotglue but if youre worried about using hot glue and i dont think you should - i did just that - use blue tak which works just as well except that every now and then you will have to knead the blutak to keep it firmly in place.
cheers
