I was listening to my im716s through my Zune and I noticed that the right channel has a crackling, static sound coming out of it. I played with the pod settings and with the equalizer set to none, I still experienced the noise.
Wondering if anyone else has experienced this here and what you have found the issue to be? Only thing I can think of right now is that the filter may need to be replaced, but before I go that route (I have only used them two or three times so they are practically brand new still so I want to count out the filter possibility) I wanted some other opinions.

Thanks!

a clogged filter will just be less loud than the other side, and will probably happen slowly unless a big and visible chunk of earwax got on top of the thing. Static is coming from the source or amp. The headphone itself can't produce static, just reproduce it. Is it real static, or maybe the sound of a bad connection at the jack? As GreatDane suggests, a different source could quickly reveal if this is the problem.
