I'm just finished my first CMOY, following instruction on Tangent's site, but using the OPA2134 instead of the OPA2132 (which is backorder until october).
The PS unit was fine, with voltage splitted equally on the two rail.
As for the sound test, there was some distortion at first but simply increasing the voltage from 9V to 18V (two batteries instead of one) solved the problem. Also there's no hiss or background noise at either voltage.
However, two problems remains and I have absolutely no idea on what to do about them.
First one is that there's a lot of reverb, or echo. It sounds like being in a big hall or stadium...
Second problem is that the sounds aren't "level". For example, guitar sounds very loud but voices are very low. Sometime bass sounds OK, sometime sounds like there's no bass at all...
These problems aren't channel specific and are present equally on the left and right channel.
Any idea on the cause of these problems or suggestions toward a better identification of the problem ?
If needed, I may try to post a mp3 of the sound getting out of the cmoy.
Thanks!
