I was wondering if anybody here has problems with EAC ripping albums that still have gaps between the songs that aren't there on the actual CD. For example, the Of Montreal CD "Hissing Fauna" has an annoying gap between every song that isn't present on the CD when I rip it to FLAC or MP3 and played through either Foobar or my rockboxed X5L.
I use EAC to rip the tracks and convert to FLAC, and I use Foobar with LAME 3.97 to convert the FLAC to mp3. I rip with gaps detected and inserted at the end of each track. The gaps I hear are not supposed to be there though. 99% of my CDs have ripped with no additional gaps, and that 1% is really bugging me. I have tried with multiple drives with no success. What works for 99% of my CDs doesn't seem to work with that 1%. I used this guide to configure my EAC to the letter, with the exception of the offset setting.
The only thing I don't have set correctly is the read sample offset, and that's only because I only have one CD (Pretty Hate Machine) that is in the offset database, and I've read that it's best to have 2 readings to see if they match up. If anybody has the drive offset for a Sony DRU-710A that would be great.
If anybody has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
