I just bought the V6 used and am very happy with them. My only problem is that on quieter songs, I can hear a very annoying hiss. Afer a quick search, I saw that this was because it reveals the true sound of the equipment. My question is, what do I have to do to change it? All i have is a generic Realtek AC'97 integrated sound card and no amp. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Get rid of the crappy, hissy onboard audio. Try a Chaintech AV-710 (though it will require some form of amplification for all but the easiest to power headphones for the rear output).

What would be the minimum I would need pricewise to get rid of this? Will something like a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS etc be enough? Or do I have to fork out a lot? Thanks.

What he said, the chaintech av710.

(see if newegg.com still has them at a good price)

I've had PCs with that Realtek AC97, it's pretty bad, the chaintech beats 'em by a mile.

The AV-710 is $25, and is better in sound quality than the horrid Audigy 2 (which does sound better than onboard audio, but isn't very great compared to other cards in it's price range).
