Hey guys i just got my adapter and... i installed the cf drive into it and connected into my ipod and such and... shouldnt the restore screen pop up when i power it on? I get the dead ipod screen as i did when i dropped my ipod a while back with the original hard drive in it. Help!!

Have you tried installing rockbox on it first?

try flipping the adapter. it might be in backwards. also, it is possible that the flex cable is damaged.

Im going to try installing rockboc first. Havent tried it. EDIT

Yeah i was unable to get the ipod recongnized through the cf adapter with the kingstin 32gb elite pro 133x compact flash. Although windows has detected it as just a removable drive with no space in it, but itunes failed to detect the ipod. I also flipped the cf adapter and it does not work...,

BUTTTT

I did noticed that the flexible PCB is damaged in a way, there are pieces of gold flakes sticking up, so im going to probably replace it soon, fortunately they are cheap...

As this is probably my last attempt to fix the darn thing after I accidently dropped it, im done with apple products for the time being.

I recently got my sansa clip and im loving it. Probably the sansa fuze is my next DAP.
