Apparently Dr. Meier is having a sale on the Prehead at a steep discount in the mall fi forum. So who's gonna take the bite?

That is one great deal. The Prehead fares well when stacked up against far more expensive units.

I think my wife would shoot me though if I brought home another amp. I have gotten a few things recently and I think it is time to sit back and be happy with what I have for a while.

This is a great buy on a well regarded unit. I don't usually see anything like a 30% discount on anything but a year old demo! It would be great to know if anybody has had experience with the PowerAmp. Has anybody heard it?

Seems worthwhile to get the Prehead and wait for the stereo power amp to come out if you don't need the monoblocks. Maybe try the setup with Todd's Sehring speakers, which he seems to be very positive about.

Does anybody have any insight into the PowerAmp.

Like Elrod-Tom said! Really nice deal on a quality product, and Jan is a true pleasure to deal with. He first got me into headphone audio with a great deal on a Corda amp and Beyer DT-931's a couple years back.

if becoming a contributing member would allow me to get in on deals like this I'll have to seriously consider becoming one.

I have too many amps as it is (and more already planned for purchase soon) so I'll pass on this one though.

even including the contribution to Head-Fi needed to get in on this deal it comes out cheaper than the regular amp price.
