With ownership of Meier Corda Amp, I am just starting to learn about the benefits of two of the included filters - Crossfeed and High-Cut (also called Low-Pass).

Using both of these filters, I was curious which people prefer to use (if any). I am especially having a difficult time finding relative information on the true benefits of the High-Cut (or Low-Pass).

My headphones are AKG K701's (which naturally have a wide soundstage)

Any shared thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

They do different things and for most it is not a question of preference.

A high-cut filter filters out signal above a certain threshold.

Example: Many FM stereo tuners produce a sound that contains hiss due to a weak or distorted signal, and from the stereo subcarrier. The high cut filter can reduce or eliminate sound above a predetermined (high) frequency between 12k to 19k. Some are sharp cut offs (can be 10 db per octave) some are more gentle (2-3 db per octave).
