My foster family has had several pains throughout last year by the loss of family leaders. Monday took one of our young ones. Alissa was a shy girl who grew up in a loving home. I watched her grow up every year at Christmas from a 2 year old. We'd sing Christmas songs and our Matriarch would give out gifts and tell the story of Christmas. The children would each get up and tell a part of the story or sing a solo their parents taught them for the family. They'd forget the words and we'd all help, lead by our oldest brother who would never let a chance to belt one out (whom we lost with his wife last year). The suggestion that she was a Hooter's waitress so by extension she invited this gets the blood boiling.

I am so sorry for your loss

She was lovely

Anyone who would possibly make the claim that waitresses are somehow asking to be murdered need to be smacked upside the head

This also gets my blood boiling. I absolutely hate it when anyone suggests this type of crap.

He took his life after shooting her 7 times. Her husband tried to keep her alive but she died in his arms. She asked for a restraining order but the judge said no, there wasn't a history to warrent it.

If you guys don't mind, I'm going to link this to Dan and Connie's facebook site. They would appreciate a thought of compassion from people around the world that share their mourning.

The war against evil may not have been declared but it is upon us.

Anyone who thinks that this is any less significant or that she was asking for this because she worked at Hooters are idiots and deserve absolutely no consideration at all.

I am so sorry for your loss. The killer was a coward; instead of facing retribution like a man, he choose to take the easy way out.

I know it's tough to say that the judge is without fault ex ante, but we must not let our hind-sight bias pollute our thinking of this situation.
