I'm upgrading my PPAv1.1 to Steps v1.2 power supply and new case, on the Steps I am using a combined 240v power inlet/fuse/switch.

The question is can I just jumper the PPA switch and power on just with 240volt power switch to the Steps, or I'm I best still using the switch on the PPA as well?

Thanks.

There is one situation in which you'd need separate switches: when you're using too much capacitance on the amp's power rail. (C1) If it's marginally too high, the power supply has to come up without the power supply load.

This is easy to test. Turn on the amp's power switch, plug the power supply in while it's turned off, and turn the supply on. If the two come on correctly together, moving them to a combined case isn't going to change that. If you have a power LED in the STEPS, the symptom of this test failing will be that the LED is dim; toggling the amp power switch off and on should cure it. In that case, you either need a different regulator IC, or to sacrifice some of your rail capacitance.
