clean your Mac !!!

I opened the case to put in a new battery and noticed that the area inside right behind the front air intakes (the 4 strangely shaped holes) was entirely and I mean entirely blocked with dust. I mean, my Mac was not getting any air and who knows for how long !!!

By the way, not easy at all to clean well, but you should take a look if you own one of these.

I have a G5 myself, but my girlfriend has the FW800 PowerMac and as you mentioned the front ports were totally clogged up. I swear I've cleaned the inside of the computer before, but I guess I must've missed that area. Thanks for the heads up.

yes, same here: I had cleaned it before but never noticed what was really going on there, it is just not very visible at all !
