Hi all-

I am looking for a power cord that would be:

1) Markedly better than the stock cord AND

2) Work well in the context of PS Audio power conditioning gear AND

3) Hopefully one you have tried.

Suggestions greatfully appreciated.

Thanks,

Jay

I second the recommendation of the Moon Audio cords--there's a Green Dragon as well as the one recommended. Other excellent cords for the money are those handmade by Frank Vai of Signal Cable (search for Signal Cable on Audiogon) and the Audience power cord (more expensive than Frank's, which are around $100, but still a very good buy for a high end power cord). I also use cords by Balanced Audio Technology (they also make power conditioners), Harmonic Technology (the AC-11 is around $100 on Audiogon), Blue Circle (less than $100) and Stealth (the HAC is less than $100). Last but not least, PS Audio makes a wide range of power cords. I have a couple of their super fat "Lab cords" that I got used on Audiogon. All the others can also be found used or demo on Audiogon for around half of list price.

I used the www.latinternational.com AC2 power cord with a MOH reference w/stepps for about six months with good results.

I've tried nothing but the stock cords so I'm not sure how much help this will be but here goes...

I've been looking at power cords and 3 have been highly recommended by several folks. The Signal Cable's cords seem to be a tremendous value for the money spent. PS Audio is also highly thought of. Finally, the KAS Audio Primus power cord keeps coming up. I've got an offer in on a used one and after reading about how it's put together, I'll likely take it if I can get it.

One other option if you really aren't sold on the benefits of a high dollar cord....see if there are any unclaimed from the Quail group buy. I think they're going for $14 apiece. Hospital grade...not bad quality at all and you can't beat that price.
