According to Dr. Mier, and I'm paraphrasing, the amount of filtering in the power supply in the Corda is such that the power cord will make little, if any, difference in audio quality. There are others here that will disagree with that, however.
I would suggest that the $30 budget would have better bang for the buck if you made some quality interconnects with it.
The power cable would be the very last thing I would consider replacing in a Corda setup.

I thought the same and just used a Radio Shack computer cord w/ the Corda. For the hell of it, I tried an "improved" cable and became a power cord sceptic turned believer. I even posted a thread about this a while back.
The earlier string I began asking about a power cord for the HA-1 resulted in the consistent advice to get the Absolute Power Cord. It's only $49 plus shipping. I haven't compared it to anything else, and don't plan to. Other Corda owners have, and I trust them.
My point is that for an extra $20 over your budget you'll get something many people think is a wonderful power cord and you can always use it with another piece of equipment later. PLUS it is UL-listed; if your homebrew cord, or one of the dozens of audiophile non-UL-listed cords, causes a fire, you can forget about your insurance coverage...
How about DIY VDH mainstream power cord? I mean using cheaper power cord but following VDH construction(7 wires, 3 for live, 3 for neutral, 1 for earth)
