I am interested in experimenting some power cables. I do believe in noise filtration and such, so to me power cable is no BS. Can anybody please provide some info (as of what to avoid, what to emphasize, etc) or the links to such info?

I know this is supposed to go to DIY but thought it will be easier to get replies here.....

Thanks a lot

Do a search on audioasylum.com's cable forum for Bob Crump. Also for Jon Risch. Be careful and make sure you know what you are doing before you go farking around with line level power also. Safety!

check out VH Audio - Audio cables, parts, and tweaks for audiophiles

a pleasure to deal with and very helpful.

i DIYed a Flavor1 and Flavor3, with plans to do another Flavor3. connectors are both Furutech and the cheaper Wattgate. the outlet box is a star-ground design based on Chris V.'s own Hot Box. he doesn't give out the recipe for the Hot Box, but i DIYed one based on what i could interpret from his description - i make no claims that it is identical.

i prefer the Flavors to my VD Power3.

are you talking about the VD-3 cable?

actually, that wasn't an bad idea for DIY, the $150 price tag is too high but the whole idea of using ferrite sand as EMF-shielding/vibration-absorbing is actually a very smart approach. If that wasn't a commercial product, instead being offered as a DIY recipt, everybody will all be stoked.....
