Hmmm. Do I smell a theme pictorial? Pictures of exotic locations or settings with that "Contented Dog?" Like the traveling gnome?

that dog's too cool, it even looks like he's playing air-guitar lol.

there's lots of DIY instructions floating around on the 'net. A lot of them use the flash on a bracket below the lens. I made mine using a cd spindle cover and a plastic mixing bowl to keep it lightweight plus i wanted to use the flash on the camera shoe rather than via a sync lead.

I just need to learn how to use it and find some models, ah! there's the catch.

I'm looking at that thing trying to figure out how you use it. Do you have another camera so you could show a pic of it being used? I'm not entirely sure how that is supposed to work.
