I am interested in recabling my beloved KSC-75's eventually and would like some inspiration. I am curious to see what others have used and what the final results have looked like. Feel free to post what you used and some pictures of the final results. I haven't been able to find one post where all these things were together (just a few random postings of recables).

These are mine:
4 wire 7/41 28 gauge copper. 1/8 techflex. 3/32 shrink after was hard to pull wire through such small shrink but
worth it. cable is pretty flexible. The tech flex is a bit microphonic though. I would recommend a shoe lace of some such.

Nice looking pair of phones. What kind of band is that? It looks a lot better than the crappy one I pulled off a pair of JetBlue headphones.

I rebraided and resheathed this pair of KSC-75's for Superpredator. I had to dremel the neutrik barrel opening to increase its size and I also had to dremel the opening of the plastic piece on the clip-ons that covers up the driver solder pads. I used a 4-wire round braid and the wire is 26AWG stranded silver-plated copper.

Nice recable ThreEchelon. Thats along the lines of what I want to do eventually. Where did you get that wire and the flex covering for it?

I didn't buy the wire but it was probably purchased from ebay seller "navships". I would use solid 30 AWG if I were doing it from the beginning. Wire heft and microphonics are very important for portable phones and 30 AWG does much better in these respects. It will be less durable and harder to work with, though.

I purchase my multifilament from wirecare.com. I think it's the most popular source among head-fier's.

what is the multifilament techflex called at wirecare? is it just the standard stuff they carry? I just bought 50 feet of cable from navships to do some recabling / LODs, and I need some extra flexible techflex.

The internets can't be that hard to navigate. Just look more closely and carefully next time.
