Anyone now the difference between the Nyczaj short, slim, vs. classic gimbals?

It looks like its in the gimbals (what attached to the headphones):
Short: The gimbals are half circles vs. extending around the headphones; but not all the way around in a circle like it does on my stock rs1x
Slim: The gimbals are thinner

I can't decided :frowning2: ... but I think I like the Slim ..

Short: Gimbal ends at the screw, is slim (second and third picture above)
Slim: Gimbal is slim
Classic: like grado form, but metal ( first picture of przem above)

@hk29, To elaborate on what @JaquesGelee already said:
Classic ones are just like stock plastic parts, but made from aluminum, they're also the heaviest
Slim ones are their lighter version with refined aesthetics
Short ones are the lightest, weighing almost the same as stock plastic parts, they also offer the most swivel and are compatible with Beautiful Audio detatchable cable adapter

As an example, here is my RS-1X with the Classic Nyczaj gimbals that I've had for just over a year now...

Here is a close-up of the aluminum rod-block illustrating the set screws to control the movement of the block. This does wonders for stabilizing the headphone adjustment.

And here is a comparison against the stock gimbal and rod-block.

I am now awaiting delivery of a set of XL gimbals, the spring steel headband, and wide comfort leather headband pad for my GS3000X and will post pictures of them installed soon. These are really well made by @przem and I highly recommend them for any Grado owner.

So here is the newly completed set for my GS3000X. This includes a new spring steel headband, a wide comfort padded leather headband, and the XL gimbals with the aluminum rod-blocks. Even the leather headband smells nice!

The original headband assembly from Grado I was able to leave totally intact.

I truly believe any Grado headphone will benefit from these mods.

Hi all, looking for someone to repair and upgrade a previously modded Grado. Any interested modders out there?

Wow, your GS3000x look beautiful :D How do you like their sound?

They sure are beautiful. Pictures really don't do them justice...

As for the sound, they are in another league from the RS-1X that I am still very happy with. The GS3000X has been in my rotation for only about a month and a half now, so I am still experiencing both brain and headphone burn-in; likely more of the former.

That said, the first thing I noticed is how much "bigger" the sound feels. The tonality is very natural, and I do not notice any pronounced emphasis or deficit throughout the frequency range my old ears can still identify. At this point, all I can say with certainty is that it sounds the most right of any headphone I have listened to in a long time. I cannot put them down. "Just another track, no wait, another album..."

Then it's "Jeez, is it really 2:00am already??"

After I have some more time on them with a wider selection of music genres and using different amplifiers, I'll add some comments, perhaps an actual review of sorts in the Head Gear section.

:)
