What is the name of the company that sells headbands, headband padding, rod blocks, etc? I think it starts with an R.

I’ve shopped with both Rholupat and Shipibo, and they are both excellent companies to deal with. Not sure about stock levels for either at the moment but a bit of browsing should turn up results. There was another company mentioned recently too that might be worth looking at - https://www.spinaf.com/online-store It all depends where you are in the world and how quickly you want your order getting to you really!

Does anyone know of a vendor that does Aluminium cups a la HP1000 style (or any style, really)? Google has not been very helpful for me. Trying to scrounge together an all-alu Ypsilon R1 build.

Thanks. One of the parts I am looking for is the actual metal band so I am probably just going to order from Rholupat since he has that part.

I just finished my first build (https://www.head-fi.org/threads/grado-modders-go-magnum.576717/page-300)

I have one Grado headband, but I cannot get the cups to sit high enough on my ears with it, so I have had to use the Sony. The Sony has tighter clamping pressure, and with the L-cush it gets uncomfortable. I am beginning to gradually try and stretch the Sony out to see if that will help. One thing I very much like about the Grado band is that it swivels all the way around, so I can lay my headphones down cushion side down.

Does anyone know if any of the aftermarket Grado-style headbands fit any different from the stock Grados? If I could find one that was shorter, that would hold the cups higher on my head, I would give them a try.

Thanks

I understand Spirit Labs is undergoing a profound restructuring following the intervention of enthusiastic business angels. This will include a rebranding, an expanded and revised product line and a distribution network. Launch should happen by May. Please take this info with a grain of salt, as it was relayed to me indirectly.

Did a bit of a reshuffle of drivers at the weekend and will be putting my SR60e build up for sale (spalted tamarind cups).

I have put the Magnum V8 drivers in the Shipibo cups with their slim headband pad and rodblocks/gimbals. I took my Lavricables IEM cable and chopped the ends off and put it in, as the cable is too noisy for IEM use really. Only using fake L-cush pads and need to invest in some genuine ones at some point.
