A nice little grado mod with some HF2s.
Senheisser HD800 detachable cable conversion

That is pretty F'n sweet. I just got my HF-2's yesterday. Not sure that I'm ready to mod them just yet, but that is very interesting.
Any noticeable change in sound?

I can't really say.the problem is is when I purchased them they had been re cabled with cryo.upocc copper but was going green.there was a real annoying buzzing at a certain volume when used with an amp and this was real annoying.
I re soldered them but no difference .it took me to pop the solder ,yes I did SHxx my self when I did this as I thought that was it they were going to be no good.
I managed to use a 225i cable which I had around which has eight wires.
Wow the headphones sound wonderful.
I've since soldered in some silver grounding devices which will take about 150 hrs to break in but make them sound even clearer ,even clearer than my rs1-is grados.
I've made up a special eight wire litz cable with solid copper occ vampire wire for signal and silver upocc 7N solid core wire for the ground.silver being ground only as the grados can sound a little to bright some times.
So I've just to put a nice oyaide connector on the end and drill the other cup and I'll let you know but will probably take a few days to break the cable in .
Good on you purchasing some some HF2s as it's the best headphones I've heard so far :smiley::smiley:

I posted this in the non-Grado driver thread. Honestly the only part of these that is still Grado is the metal part of the headband and the gimbles.

Started a Magnum build and wanted to recycle my MS1i cups/drivers for my lady. Yellow's her favorite color, so I ended up with this:

HD414 Cushions; Plattan head band; single sided entry, screen fabric for the rear vents, punch two holes for bass venting, Mogami cable.
