Is that with the black soft touch? Any chance your camera has a macro mode and you could post some close ups? I'm kind of curious as to what the soft touch is all about. All I know is that it looks good when you do it on the website.

While you guys wait months for your custom cans, I'll be grooving away with my new dt990.

They're worth the wait though. In fact, I can't even write anything remotely useful about them, because I've completely fallen in love... doesn't help that the first cd I tested was Violator. I need time to get my head straight...

but in a few months this will be you.

In a few months?!?!

I thought lead time was a couple of weeks on these orders, now that the leather ear cups were in stock. For those of you who have ordered, what has your experience been?

I thought that people were waiting ages for these. Has Beyer been able to speed it up? If so, my bad...

The soft touch is just a little smoother than the regular plastic. It looks great but I don't think it's a big deal.

And yeah, I personalized them as I have no intention of selling/trading this set of headphones. My main headphone remains my Headphile Darth Beyer DT770/80's, which sound much better, but I couldn't help getting a pair of these tricked out. I can't wait to get the leather earpads on them!

I don't know about the new dt770, but the new dt990 is really something. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that I started on old dt990s, then came back to headphones with the dt990 pros, so I was sorta raised on them, but right now, I'm just completely in love with these cans, and I need to really settle down, let them settle down, before I can write anything useful, because right now, I'm in fangurl mode. The Beyer Luuuv is back!

I want a pair of the new DT990's bad. Have to recover the wallet a bit first tho, and probably sell some stuff.
